FAQ

What is your stance on abortion?

We believe that life begins before birth and so committing abortion is the same as commiting murder.

We believe, however, that anyone that has commited abortion is able to be forgiven and restored once they acknowledge and repent of thier sins.

Spiritual gifts are still working till date according to the Holy Scriptures. And in fact, it will continue to work till the appearance of the Messiah.

  • Ephesians 4:11-13, 1 Corinthians 13:8, Acts 2:17

Do you permit women to serve as leaders?

Women can serve as leaders in accordance with the grace that the Lord God has given to them. However, regardless of the capacity in which they serve, women must still submit unto the leadership they have been placed under; their fathers if they are unmarried and their husbands if they are married. Furthermore it is required for all believers to submit to one another and to the leadership of the church.

Is it ok for little children to be baptized? Are there biblical grounds to baptize young children?

Small children are dedicated and blessed but do not need to be baptized. Biblically, the prerequisite for baptism is for the person to believe that Jesus Christ is His/Her Lord and Savior; to believe in the gospel of Jesus Christ. Jesus never baptized any children nor recommended us to do so, but rather showed us, by His example, that we must bless them. This is because small children have not yet to come to the point of understanding the need to believe.

Do you permit children to participate in the communion?

According to the book of John 6:53-58, it is biblical for children to participate in the communion because children are also part of the body of Christ. Those who partake in the communion remain in Christ and Christ remains in them. It means that they are made part of the body of Christ. For this reason, adults recognize the importance of partaking in the communion. The church must also recognize that children are also part of the body of Christ and so, must partake in the communion as well. Furthermore, the Scriptures say that the bread and the drink represent the flesh and blood of Christ Jesus; so, whoever feeds on Christ will live and have eternal life. Even as adults desire to find their eternal life in Christ, there is also a need for us to recognize the importance for children to find their eternal lives in Christ Jesus as well.

Exodus 12:3 teaches us that the lamb of God was for the whole household. In the times of the Old Testament, they were also included in the eating of the lamb. Likewise, we must include them in the communion today.

Based on 1 Corinthians 11:27, some people refrain from allowing children to partake in the communion with the understanding that children often lack the understanding of the implications of taking the communion in an unworthy manner. Do they have biblical grounds to forbid the children from partaking in the communion?

In Exodus 12:26, the people of Israel were charged to teach their children the meaning of the sacrifice of the Lord’s Passover. Likewise, it is our responsibility today, to teach our children to honor the body of Christ and not to treat it in an unworthy manner. Instead of excluding them from taking the communion, we must rather teach them the Truth.

It was with His blood that Christ Jesus redeemed us from the power of sin and death. Through the sprinkling of His blood, we were sanctified by the Spirit, which is the power in His blood. This same Spirit of God, who dwells within the blood, serves as the seal of our salvation; the power of God that brought Christ to life and will likewise resurrect us in the end. So, by including our children in the communion and teaching them about its significance, we are helping them to attain their eternal resurrection and training them to stay on the path of the Lord.

Do you believe that baptism is necessary for salvation?

In John 3:5 Jesus states that unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. So baptism is necessary for salvation. Paul explains in 1 Corinthians 10:2 that even Israel was baptized in the sea signifying that they were followers of Moses. Christ Jesus Himself was baptized to fulfill Scripture and commanded us to do likewise. So, as long as you have the chance to be baptized, you must do so to fulfill Scripture. Baptism is a sign and seal of our regeneration; it signifies that we have been born again and been included into the body of Christ. It is an important and necessary significance.

What is your stance on homosexuality?

Homosexuality is an inequity. Homosexuality is backed by a strong spirit so anyone that has committed an act of homosexulaity must quickly seek the Lord. They can come out through deliverance and pure counseling in the Word of God. Likewise, anyone who struggles with this spirit, and has not yet committed an act, must be willing to receive deliverance and pure counseling in the Word of God to find freedom and liberation in Christ.

Is alcohol bad?

Consuming alcohol is bad when it does not serve the purpose for which God created it. For example, it may be needed in certain situations for healing, etc. Everything God created is good if it serves its original purpose. So alcohol drinking is only good when it serves a good and godly purpose in someone’s life.

Whenever it is not used in accordance with its original purpose, it is bad. Remember, alcohol can destroy lives. Using it in a way that does not please the Lord can lead to various forms of addiction and causes people to destroy their bodies (the temple of God), making them mockers of the things of God, leading them to blaspheme, and other actions that the person will later regret, including losing their salvation, their eternal life. It can even cost you to lose your physical life here on earth.

Due to the numerous negative effects that drinking alcohol can cause, it is a good thing to even abstain from drinking at all.

Do you celebrate holidays like Christmas, Easter, Halloween, etc?

Scripture teaches us that even the godly festivals and celebrations were mere shadows of the true things to come. After the Lord Jesus Christ disarmed all the rulers and powers by his victory on the cross, He made us know through Apostle Paul, that we mustn’t let anyone judge us concerning the festivals because they were mere shadows of the truth to come (Colossians 2:15-17). Why then do we try to fit ourselves in to observe festivals that we all know are pagan in origin? There are many pagan festivals that have infiltrated into the church and people are now serving the devil, thinking they are worshiping the Lord and doing the things of God.

We, Worldlight Revival Ministries, believe in the significance of the virgin birth of Christ Jesus and His death and resurrection since they have all been proven by the Holy Scriptures, both the Old and the New Testament. We believe that each of those events have greatly impacted the world and the Kingdom of God. Yet, we do not partake nor believe in any festival that is connected to Pagan Worship like Halloween, Christmas, Easter, etc.

Halloween

Halloween has its roots in the ancient demonic practice of celebrating a time believed to be when the living intermingle with spirits of the dead, including evil spirits, all of which were considered “hallowed” by the unbelievers who celebrated it. People wore masks and lit fires to scare away spirits, made food to appease the spirits, dressed up as deceased people or spiritual beings, etc. It involves demoic initiations and the calling forth and interaction with the dead.

Even today, many different countries and cultures have various ways, including holidays and celebrations, through which they knowingly and unknowingly are initiated to have fellowship with the dead and with spirits/demons.

It has even managed to infiltrate into the church blindly. Halloween is simply one of the major ways that this occurs. The celebration is a deceptive way by which the devil leads many to unknowingly become initiated with the spirit of the dead. As Christians, we know the truth that God and the things of God alone are to be hallowed (Matthew 6:9). Many of the practices of the celebration are directly against the ways of the Lord. Therefore, we do not celebrate it and we teach people to refrain from celebrating it.

Deuteronomy 5:8, Leviticus 19:28, Ecclesiastes 9:5, Isaiah 8:19

Isaiah 8:19 “When men tell you to consult the spirits of the dead and the spiritists who whisper and mutter, shouldn’t a people consult their God instead? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living?”

Christmas

We believe in the birth of Christ. We believe that His birth is biblical, and that the teachings of His birth impacts the lives of many in the church of God.  We believe however, that while the birth of Christ is biblical, Christmas is unbiblical and is pagan in origin. Therefore, we do not celebrate Christmas.

Christmas celebration has pagan origins, such as Sun worship, and various pagan traditions such as tree decorating, the use of lights, the use of the wreath, the mistletoe, caroling, the reverence of Santa Claus, etc. Historically, the holiday of Christmas served a time for Christians to fit in with the feastings of the world. Yet Christ has called us to be the light of the world and not to obscure what is the truth by combining it, nor covering it with traditions that come from the devil.

Easter

We believe in the death and resurrection of Christ Jesus. We believe that like many events of His life, the Scriptures prophesied that He will be put to death and will be raised to life again. For that reason, we celebrate “Christ’s Death and Resurrection”. The Word “Easter” has no biblical origin but it rather has its origins in the pagan worship of a false god named Eostre (also Estre, Estara, Eastre, Ostara, and similar spellings in various sources). Instead of celebrating “Easter”, we celebrate "Christ's Death and Resurrection".
